ABOUT

ShopYourTV is a website which helps viewers find items that are featured on TV shows. The products ShopYourTV ID’s covers beauty products, clothing, cars, music and much more! We like to think that our website is shaped by our fans – if there is a show you would like us to cover – send us an email and we will try and add it to our line up!

Started by Chloe Bell and her sister Kirsty in 2011, we are the largest website that exists spotting TV Fashion, covering over 2,000 individual TV Shows, which is over 4x the amount any other site similar website does.  We are also always the site to post first! So find your information here quicker – before it eventually ends up on other similar websites.

We are different from large companies! When website was started in 2011 and only covered 5 TV shows. Now we have several people who casually post on the website in their spare time who have contributed to the over 200,000 finds which are now listed on the website! (If you are great at finding things on TV Shows – we’d love to hear from you!). This website would not be as popular if it weren’t for the awesome people who dedicate their time and love of meticulously searching down clothing to it.

Special Mention to: Michelle, Kirsty, Crista, Juliana, Andrea, Dulcie, Haley, Debbie, Jess, Henrique, Goncarlo, Jenna, Hope, Katherine, Jenn, Victoria, Zoey, Kaitlyn, Risa, Marjorie, Manda, Astrid, Kaoutar, Mackenzie, Rhiann, Rory, Chris, Lucie – who have all been with us currently and in the past and helped create the largest archive of TV Fashion!

FAQS

1/ How did the idea for ShopYourTV come about?
I started the website in 2011 when I was watching TV and I saw a top I really liked. I scoured the internet to find out where I could buy it. I was amazed when I was able to find the exact piece worn on the show, and excited to share this information as nothing like that existed at the time. I started Shop Your TV as a blog where I posted what I could find from the shows I was watching and got a large amount of views. This attracted a few more like minded people who requested to add items that they had found, and that’s how this sort of archive started.

2/What is the demand like for clothes worn by people on TV shows?
I honestly think there’s a huge demand and it’s increased a lot with the rise of online shopping. Reality shows are huge, you get more real life/wearable outfits that people actually want to wear in their everyday lives even if it’s a casual jacket worn on Big Brother or a newsreader’s blouse. We get a lot of interest in TV shows with amazing outfits which just aren’t practical or are at crazy price points – where it’s nice to know where it’s from, in a “window shopping” sense.

3/You link to other sites where the clothes are sold; do you get a commission?
Our website works by linking you to the retailers that sell the products that have been worn on the show. We do partner with affiliate programs to receive a commission through this. However, our main focus is creating the largest and most in-depth database showcasing as many outfits as we can possibly find regardless of whether or not we will make a cut! This is usually the case as a lot of outfits are actually sold out by the time a TV airs depending when it was filmed.

4/Do you have a team of researchers tracking down the outfits? How do you work out who wore what?
We have a core team of around 4 people who regularly contribute information to the site daily and another 8 who post on a casual basis. We have all become experts at recognising popular brands, knowing what shows/character gravitate to which brands, and scrolling through the internet for information. We also get information straight from the source – most costume designers I reached out to are the loveliest people and are over the moon to help us out!

5/How many TV Shows do you cover & how do you choose which ones to?
We are currently covering over 2,000 shows from all over the world and have over 200,000 exact finds published. We try to cover literally as many shows as we physically can.  A lot of our team is located all over the world so we have a lot of variety of shows being added to the site. I like to think no show is not worthly and really really try to cover “everything.
